Buy or rent printers?

Momice Check-in is a Do-It-Yourself solution for on-site registration. Having experienced at dozens of events how smooth and easy this solution works, we are happy to advise you on purchasing the necessary equipment.

If you are using Momice Check-in for the first time, you can also rent a complete printer set from Momice. This way, you can try out the setup at your own pace and see which materials suit you best—should you later decide to purchase the equipment yourself.

Earned Back Within 2 Events

When you buy your own printers, it quickly becomes cheaper than renting:

  • If you buy 2 printers and use your own smartphones, you’ll save money after just 2 events.

  • If you also buy your own tablets or smartphones for scanning, you’ll save money after 6 events.

Variable costs such as print credits, badges, lanyards, or clips are not included in the calculations. For each checked-in participant, 1 print credit (€1.00 each) is deducted from your account balance.

You can purchase print credits per event or for the entire year from Momice, with volume discounts starting from 500 print credits. Below are detailed calculation examples for complete sets with 2 or 3 printers.

Example: Set of 2 Printers

In this example, we assume the purchase of 2 printers including labels and 2 tablets with holders.
With this setup, you can check in 150–250 visitors per hour (contactless) and hand them a personalized badge.

With the purchase of your own hardware, the investment is fully paid back within 6 events compared to renting an identical set. Of course, you can also use your own smartphones or tablets, which shortens the payback time significantly (to about 3 events).

Badges, lanyards and/or clips can be purchased from your own supplier or ordered through Momice, who can also design them for you. Badge prices vary between €0.36 and €2.00 per piece, depending on the size, finish, and quantity.
